What does an outdoor sauna cost?
Short answer: an outdoor sauna in thermowood typically costs from DKK 45,000 to 80,000. Here's what the price covers – and what moves it up or down.
With us, an outdoor sauna in thermowood costs from DKK 44,900 for the round barrel sauna and up to around DKK 79,000 for the largest square cabin. A cold plunge starts at DKK 9,900. The price depends first of all on the model, the size and the heater – and delivery to your address is added on top. You see the full price as you configure, before you order.
What the price depends on
Size and shape weigh the most. A barrel sauna for two or three is the cheapest place to start; a larger oval or square cabin for six to eight costs more in wood and insulation.
Then the heater: a 6 kW electric heater is plenty for a small room, while a larger room needs 9 kW. Options like extra glass or a longer model add on top – each choice shows in the price as you configure.
What's added on top
Delivery is calculated from your address, because a whole sauna is bulky to transport. We state that price before you pay.
Power is the other item: a 6–9 kW electric heater must be connected to three-phase power (400 V) by an authorised electrician. We don't handle that, and it typically costs a few thousand kroner depending on the distance to the fuse board. The base – paving or a stable, level layer – is also yours to prepare.
What does it cost to run?
An electric heater only draws power while it's heating. The sauna is ready in about half an hour, and a session typically costs a few kroner in electricity. For most homes the running cost is modest – and thermowood needs almost no maintenance.
